Clayborn spent 30 years as a Writ Writer, litigating criminal and civil matters in state and federal Courts. Clayborn has successfully advocated for incarcerated people in habeas corpus proceedings in federal district courts, as well as appellate proceedings in the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. And he has been instrumental in securing relief for wrongfully convicted men. Numerous civil rights and state tort claim cases prepared by Clayborn have resulted in settlements or jury verdicts for the plaintiff/claimant. 

In addition to preparing pleadings in numerous cases, Clayborn has also counseled and educated numerous petitioners and plaintiffs on the proper application of state and federal law in pro se litigation.

Clayborn is a native of Altgeld Gardens on Chicago’s South Side. After high school, he joined Blackstone Career Institute and achieved a Certificate in Paralegal Studies and Criminal Law. 

Clayborn finds inspiration in the Islamic faith and motivation from being a father and grandfather. His passion is seeking justice for citizens in prison deprived of their rights, people wrongfully convicted, and those disproportionately sentenced, brutalized by bad actors in law enforcement, and the poor and oppressed.

In leisure time, Clayborn enjoys dining out, being a dog dad and Netflix chilling.
