Federal civil rights lawsuit filed against New Orleans for 28-year-long wrongful incarceration

On behalf of Plaintiffs Kunta Gable and Sidney Hill, Kaplan & Grady and New Orleans based firm, John Adcock Law, LLC, have filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the City of New Orleans, the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office and infamous NOPD officers Len Davis and Sammie Williams over the 28 years that the men spent wrongfully behind bars. 

The lawsuit alleges that in the 1990s, the collapse of the New Orleans Police Department and the failures of the Orleans Parish District Attorney allowed innocent teenagers to be arrested and convicted for a murder they did not commit. The complaint alleges 14 causes of action, including violations of constitutional rights, malicious prosecution,and conspiracy The press release and complaint are below.
